GP Events

Once promoted to the Junior League Division, Grand Prix Events will unlock and allow you to participate in the Junior Grand Prix difficulty tier.

Grand Prix Events have four difficulty tiers available. Higher tiers will grant you the chance to earn greater rewards, however will also be a greater challenge to progress to the Final Round and achieve top positions!

The difficulty tiers are:

• Junior - Open to League Division Junior I+ - Event rewards range from Series 1-3

• Challenger -  Open to League Division Challenger I+ - Event rewards range from Series 1-6

• Contender - Open to League Division Contender I+ - Event rewards range from Series 1-9

• Champion - Open to League Division Champion I+ - Event rewards range from Series 1-12

Once unlocked, you can select any difficulty tier you would like to participate in. 

To participate in an Event, you will need to pay the Event Entry Fee for a Coin cost. The higher the difficulty tier, the higher the price to enter. You can view the tracks for each round by selecting the track button top right. 

Tip: Once you have paid the difficulty tier registration Coin fee, you cannot change the tier for the remainder of the Event. Choose wisely!

Each Event will also have Featured Assets. Featured assets are Drivers and Components which gain a stat boost while the Event is live. This means all their stats increase by the percentage outlined, making them more powerful. 

You may want to incorporate featured assets into your loadout setup depending on the track and your race strategy! The stat bonus applies to both Grand Prix and Duel races throughout the Event period. 

Sponsor Tasks are an additional, optional task you can complete during the Grand Prix Event. These tasks will require you to make adjustments to your equipped Drivers and Components in your loadout to include the Sponsored Assets. 

By tailoring your loadout to meet the Sponsor Task requirements, extra rewards can be earned per Grand Prix race. For example, this could be extra Pit Pass Trophies or additional Race Points to your score for that particular race. 

The Sponsor Task for the Event can differ depending on the difficulty tier you enter as well as for each round of the Event. The Sponsored assets can also have requirements tied to them, such as rarities or upgrade levels. Make sure to check these before starting your race!

Tip: The required assets in these Sponsor Tasks may not always align with the Track Stats of each race or that of the Featured Assets. It’s up to you to determine whether the stat boost or Sponsor Task rewards are your priority!

Overtake Mode

Overtake Mode is an additional element of a race which becomes available when equipping a Battery Component in your loadout that features the Overtake Mode stat. 

Once you unlock Series 4 of Duels onwards, you will have the chance to start earning Battery Components with Overtake Mode stat from Crates.

When equipping these Battery Components, after the first lap of the race Overtake Mode can be activated. Overtake Mode provides a temporary boost to your car’s max Speed and Overtaking performance. 

Overtake Mode is broken down into three different elements; Impact, Duration and Recharge:

• Impact: Determines the increase of Speed and Overtaking ability when Overtake Mode is active

• Duration: Determines the length of time Overtake Mode lasts when activated

• Recharge Rate: Determines the length of time it takes for Overtake Mode to recover and become available to activate again 

Each individual Battery component will differ in terms of which of the above areas their strengths and weaknesses lie. For example, one Battery could be high Impact but with a lower Duration and slower Recharge Rate while another could have less Impact but have a longer Duration and quicker Recharge Rate. It is up to you to determine which Battery fits your race strategy best for the Series and track you are able to race in!

The Overtake Mode button is displayed above your driver panel and below the Power Unit and Engine modes. This displays in different ways depending on its current status:

• Disabled: Overtake Mode is locked if a Battery Component without Overtake Mode stat has been equipped or Overtake Mode conditions have not been met (e.g. in Safety Car conditions, reaching 0% Tyre life or entering the Pit Lane)

• Recharge: Overtake Mode has just been used and is in its Recharge period before it can be used again. This is also displayed for the first lap of the race where Overtake Mode can not be activated yet.

• Ready: Overtake Mode is ready to be activated

• Active: Overtake Mode is currently activated

Overtake Mode can be activated:

•  Regardless of proximity to other cars

• Anywhere on track (straights are recommended for full effect)

• In all weather conditions

•  While any engine mode is in use

• With any tyre compound equipped

Overtake Mode cannot be activated:

• During Qualifying

• For the first lap of the race

• When in P1

• When in the Pit Lane

• Under Safety Car conditions

• If tyres are worn and reach 0% life

TIP: It's key to remember that while Overtake Mode can be activated anywhere on the track, it will be at its most effective on long straights. Once Overtake Mode has been activated, you must wait till this recharges before using again. To make the most out of the performance gained from Overtake Mode, make sure to use your Overtake Mode strategically!

Legendary Drivers and Special Editions 

In addition to Common, Rare and Epic rarities; there are two further, unique rarities for Drivers; Legendary and Special Editions!

Legendary Drivers consist of some of the most Legendary Drivers in F1 history; celebrating icons of the past. These Drivers will have increasingly powerful stats compared to the standard three rarities. 

You can view your Legendary Drivers under the ‘Driver’ section on the loadout screen by selecting the “Legendary Drivers” tab. You will need to have won at least 10 races to unlock Legendary Drivers. 

Special Editions consist of exclusive versions of the Drivers included in the current Season of F1 Clash. Pushing the limits of their stats compared to their standard rarity versions, Special Editions make for some of the most powerful Driver cards available to unlock.

Special Editions are grouped into a variety of themed collections that may celebrate Driver’s successes or potential in the current F1 Season. 

You can view your Special Editions under the ‘Driver’ section on the loadout screen by selecting the “Special Editions” tab when Special Editions are available.

Like the Common, Rare and Epic rarities, when available, Legendary and Special Edition Drivers can be obtained in a variety of reward sources including specific Crates. You can view if a Crate includes Legendary or Special Edition Drivers by viewing Crate drop rates. 

Legendary Drivers and Special Editions are also upgradable. As with the other rarities, you will need a set amount of cards to be eligible to upgrade. Once obtained, upgrading to the next level requires a set Coins cost. Unlike other rarities however, Legendary Drivers and Special Editions also require a set Legacy Points cost to upgrade. 

Legacy Points are a currency unique to Legendary Drivers and Special Editions and are used to upgrade them. Legacy Points can be obtained from various sources including the likes of Collection Milestones and offers. You can check your Legacy Points balance under the ‘Legendary Drivers’ or ‘Special Editions’ tabs on the Driver section of the loadout screen.

Not all Legendary Drivers or Special Editions collections will be available from the beginning. Keep an eye out for new Legends and Special Editions unlocking throughout the Season!

Collection Milestones

Collection Milestones are an additional reward track. Like Legendary Drivers, this becomes available after winning 10 races. 

Collection Milestones displays at the top of the loadout screen and will display a progression bar to show your progress made towards the next Milestone. 

Each Milestone in the track provides a reward which can be claimed once reached. Rewards vary from Crates, Power-ups, Currencies and Legendary Drivers. 

To make progress towards Collection Milestones, earn Collection Points. Collection Points are earned by upgrading your Drivers and Components. The Collection Points you earn for upgrading will differ depending on the Driver’s or Component’s rarity and unlock series, as well as the level of the upgrade. 

Win Ratio

Races can be challenging, especially as you progress through the Series. If you are finding winning races a little tricky, here are a few tips!:

• Total Team Score is not a true indicator of performance or strength, you can have a higher Team Score and lose just as you can have a lower Team Score and win! Review the race debrief to gain a full picture of how team score is broken down into individual Driver and Component stats for you vs. your opponent, especially in terms of key stats like the circuit’s Track Stats. If you find your loadout is weaker for certain stats, you might want to review the Drivers and Components you have equipped.

• The Debrief can also be useful for reviewing in terms of in race Tyre Management and Pit Stop strategy. If your opponent wins a race and you find that your Tyre and Pit Stop strategy differs significantly to that of your opponent, you might want to try a different approach to that circuit. Tip: Remember that lap count can play a critical part of race strategy. Consider how many Pit Stops you’ll want to take to help you decide which tyre compounds are best to equip.

• If you are finding a particular Series or Grand Prix Event difficulty tier particularly tricky, you can always return to previous Series or Difficulty tiers to continue building up your owned Drivers and Components as well as your race experience. Build up your confidence until you feel prepared for that particular Series or Difficulty tier.
